Long-distance move from Concord, NC to Bardstown, KY

Thieves and very unprofessional

We used Progressive for our move in July 2019. The represenative was very nice on the phone and we agreed on a price. The movers that showed up were not what we expected. 2 did not even speak english. They were a week late delivering our furniture. We had to keep calling to get them to deliver. When they arrived we were told they needed more money to get our furniture off the truck. Alot of things badly damaged and many items missing. I took pictures and sent them to the company and they would not reply are return calls. We were out $10,000 in repairs and missing items. We have now gotten a lawyer. He says he is not having any luck recovering are money. Looks like court is next.

Long-distance move from North Carolina to Florida

Cancelled move twice and refusing to refund deposit.

AWFUL experience.  DO NOT USE!!  They cancelled my move not once but twice and now almost three months later I am still fighting with them to get my deposit refunded. They are unprofessional, rude, and possibly pure crooks.  I question if they even do moves or if they just schedule them and try to keep the deposits.  They hardly answer their phone, I had to call 7 times today, of which I spoke to a live person twice, once of which I was disconnected and the second, I treated to rudely by the manager Kevin.   .

Service cost: $1700

Official company response

While we strive to accomodate our clients the best we can we do rely on the client to accurately reflect their move. We asked this client about access to their home and stated that for this route we would be using an 18 wheeler. The client said ok no problem. We also indicated to the client that if we cannot fit the larger truck then there will be an additional shuttle fee. Upon arrival the 18 wheeler was not able to fit so we advised the client that we will rent a smaller truck to shuttle the items as first explained and that there would be a $250 charge. The client said ok come tommorow. The next day came and we arrived with the smaller truck and the client then canceled saying they did not want to pay the shuttle fee. Considering we went to the clients home twice and rented a smaller truck no refund was given due to the expenses we incurred.

Long-distance move from Texas to Arizona

Unreliable, Unprofessional, Unethical.

Let me just start out by saying that even one star is being too generous. We have used three other movers prior to this move, one across country and two within state, so we have experience with moving companies and I know what level of service to expect. This experience was terrible. I am writing a formal complaint with the US Department of Transportation Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, as Progressive met many of the conditions that are red flagged by this department that warns against and investigates moving fraud. I will bullet point here why you should avoid this company (this is the short hand version, believe it or not), but urge you to file complaints if you're concerned about the ethics behind this company as well.  -The pick up date was pushed back (by Progressive) by one day. The driver, who was supposed to be there between 8am and 11am the next morning, did not arrive until 8:15pm that night. I found out at 11:30 by calling the dispatcher that their truck had broken down. Progressive had no idea what was going on with the truck on the ground and was useless. Throughout the day the driver kept saying "It'll be a few more hours" but we only received updates when we called. At one point he asked if we had a back up plan.  -When the driver showed up, he was rude, unprofessional and unapologetic. He also estimated we had 400 cubic fee. Then 500. Then 600. We had everything laid out at the very beginning so everything was in plain sight and accounted for, but the driver kept changing the amount. I pointed this out to him and he ultimately decided on 525c/f but I don't believe his estimate. When I pushed back he said don't bother complaining because Progressive doesn't care about customer service and would sooner cancel my order. I feel this was a scare tactic so I wouldn't call about him.  -We were also charged for both stairs AND a long carry. We knew the stairs would be extra so that was fine. However, our apartment was directly at the top of the stairs and their truck was directly at the bottom. By charging for stairs and a long carry, he essentially charged twice for the same amount of distance and work.  -The men loading the truck left our belongings outside on the wet ground for a long time. At one point, they were all sitting around laughing and talking for about 10 minutes. I asked them what they were waiting for and they said "For the guy in the truck to tell us where to put things," but I could hear their conversation and it was not at all related to the move or our belongings, again, sitting on the wet ground. Then the driver comes up and says "Aren't they crazy?" (As if this is a fun time for all) And then adds, "All it takes to make this crew happy is a 12 pack of beer and a hooker." And I'm supposed to trust that our things arrive safely 1,000 miles away.   -They finally left at 10:15pm after being loud, disruptive (this is on a week night, mind you, in a quiet apartment complex and they were yelling about things not related to the move), and tracking mud all through our apartment, with an estimate that was 2x the original agreement.  -I tried to call a supervisor the next morning. I was told she was on another call and would call me back. She did not do so. I called back the next day and she noted my complaints and told me she would personally call us when our belongings were loaded on the truck. She never did.  -Our belongings did not arrive for 3 weeks. The original agreement said arrival was between 7 and 17 business days. However, the contract the driver brought with him said it could be up to 21 business days. This is misleading and wrong. They arrived on the 17th business day after we sat in empty apartment for 3 weeks.  -The driver called the day before and said he would be at our apartment at 9am on his arrival date. Great. That morning, Progressive called and said our belongings were JUST loaded and it would be another 2 to 4 days. Well, which is it?? The driver also gave me the incorrect remaining balance. I called Progressive to confirm the balanace. They put me on hold for 15 minutes and then came back and said "I'm sorry - I don't have the driver's number, do you have it?" I'm sorry, what? I have to give the company who HIRED this driver his phone number?? This tells me they have no control or knowledge of their trucks or the drivers.   -When the driver arrived (which, I will say he was actually on time on the day he said he would be there) he said it would be an extra charge for a shuttle. Fine, we knew that. However, he immediately said "It will be $550 because I have to rent a UHaul and then wait for the guys to get it and bring it back." He gave me this number at the beginning before anyone went to get a truck or how long he knew it would be. The two movers he had with him came back with their own personal truck and trailer, not a UHaul, so I wnt to know, where did this $550 come from? How did he determine this number?  I feel like he just made it up so when I asked for a written description of the extra charges he became irritated, aggressive, said "Oh what now?" and wrote down "Extra services" on the receipt. Then I pressed further and said okay, exactly how did you come to that number. He said "$200 for stairs and $350 for the trailer." I showed him the previous driver charged $150 for the same amount of stairs so he said "Fine, $400 for the trailer and $150 for the stairs." Excuse me? How do you just change the amount you charge to suit the $550 you got from me? Clearly there is no written set of guidelines for extra charges. I had no choice but to give him another $550 if I wanted my belongings! The driver also called me naive when I asked him about any additional charges so I question his ethics and honesty.   -I asked the two movers to put the metal bed frames back together and the driver said "We have some place to be." and became very aggressive with me for asking, even though this was part of the services they are supposed to provide.  -To top it all off, our items sustained damaged and some of our things were broken. Of our 40 boxes, 22 of them were damaged and 4 or 5 boxes were completely ripped open (picture 1) The ones that were damaged weren't just dinged up a bit. I mean they were severely dented and misshapen. One box had things falling out as the movers brought it up the stairs and I can tell you that we we did not pack it like that! The box was clearly damaged in the middle - meaning they stacked heavy things on top of it and forced the box open. -I also packed some of my belongings in a paper ream box and taped it across in four directions. Tape was ripped off three sides and things were shuffled around. I believe, based on what the box was labeled, someone went through my belongings. -Also, a lamp that the movers wrapped themselves was broken (see picture 2) as were several items in the boxes the movers damaged. I can only hope the claims process isn't as much of a nightmare as the move was itself. I watched as the movers moved things from the truck to the trailer - they ignored things that said "Fragile" or "this way up" and tossed boxes to each other in front of me so I can only imagine how they handled my belongings when I wasn't watching them.  I wholeheartedly regret using this company and would caution against it. .

Long-distance move from New Mexico to Massachusetts

Do Not Use.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!  It is a leasing company, which means it contracts through movers in your area. Because of the convoluted paper trail, you have little to no recourse when things go badly. Here's what happened:I booked a move through Progressive Relocation and the movers failed to show up within the specific window of dates. On August 16, 2013, I booked a move (Job R661589) from Santa Fe, NM to Holden, MA through an agent named Paul of Progressive Relocation. I was told that the movers would arrive between August 28-August 30th. According to the contract that I was sent, this window was guaranteed and a refund would be given if the movers did not arrive within these dates. I paid a deposit of $750.00. On August 30, 2013, I became concerned because I had not heard from the movers. At noon, I called Progressive and spoke to a customer service rep. She told me she would call me back. After 90 minutes, I had not heard anything so I called again; this time, a different representative spoke with me and said she would speak to the driver. She called me back within 45 minutes and told me that the driver said he was told Monday. I told her this was unacceptable because I was told that the movers would be here. The representative said that I could either find someone else (the Friday of Labor Day weekend, mind you) or hire someone to be there to meet the movers on Monday. I called other companies but they were booked at least three weeks ahead.I had to cancel my job interview and stay the weekend. The movers did not show up until the afternoon because their truck broke down. I ended up paying my neighbor to stay and meet the movers who arrived the afternoon of Sept 2, three days after the guaranteed window.I tried calling Progressive several times in the following week to resolve the matter. Each time, I spoke to a customer service representative who was not receptive to my concerns but promised to look into it and call me back. They never called me back. Finally, on Thursday September 4 , the representative said that she had spoken to a manager who claims it was the moving company's problem. Of course, the moving company blamed Progressive and it becomes a fun finger pointing game!Bottom line, is that I deserved and did not get a refund of my deposit. The window of dates is guaranteed in the contract. Either the correct date was not communicated by Progressive Relocation to the moving company or they did not procure the services of a reputable company. In either case, they did not fulfill the obligations of their contract.
On top of that, the company that they contracted with lost two of my boxes and damaged the top of my wardrobe. I believe the two boxes were lost not stoled because they had odds and ends, nothing worth stealing.

Long-distance move from Arizona to Illinois

Last Minute Cancellation on Holiday Weekend!!

Of course the 5 star rating is what most intrigued me about this company even though they were higher than my other quotes. This company claims not to be a broker, but I'm not so sure about that because of the way they handled my moving situation.
I contacted Progressive Reloaction about a month prior to my moving date (today: 5/28/2013).  I had been communicating with Jason at first, but after I booked and sent in my credit card/bank information I could never speak to him again, I got a host of different people calling me.  That should have been my first warning.
The Main ISSUE--- Around 5pm cst on Friday 5/24/13 (Memorial Day Weekend) 4 days before my move, I recieved a call from a random Progreesive Relocation worker stating that they would not be able to move me. She stated that one of their trucks broke down and they would not be able to get abother truck to my location for 2 weeks.  She told me I should try to look for a company in Las Vegas. She then stated that they did not charge my bank account.  Finally, she stated they usally don't do business like this.
Really?? This is totally unacceptable. To not even offer to help me find new movers or at least give me some names of reliable movers I could use on such short notice.  I was forced to find movers on a HOLIDAY weekend.  Forced to pay outrageous prices because it was last minute! I could not even enjoy my holiday because of this headache.
I believe progressive did not want to move me because they could not broker off my move and still make a profit.  Telling me to use a company out of Vegas further provides me with reason that they did not want to move me because they would not have made any money from my move so they could not broker it off.  I do not believe this company uses their own trucks or movers.  The 5 star rating certainly FOOLED ME!
I would not recommend as I do not think they are professional, honest or have good customer service skills. Don't let them FOOL YOU! Or ruin your Holidays!

Official company response

The fact is this the client attempted to book her move 6 days prior to the date she wanted and while we did attempt to reroute a truck to her because of the short notice an a mechanical failure we foresaw that we could not meet that date and gave her enough notice to find another mover. So while she was given 4 days notice we only got 6 days notice from her. Also the client was late submitting her booking/deposit information so that delayed dispatch but we still tried to assist the client. Unfortunately moves booked last minute leave no margin for error while earlier booked moves allow for logistical contingencies. Progressive Relocation strives for the highest level of excellence. Call us and you will see 855-575-MOVE

Local move within New Hampshire

Liars.

These clowns moved us from the SE to New England. Our stuff went into storage, which we need to extend because of a delay in getting into our house. We cal;led to schedule the delivery and had to leave a message. Nobody answered, which is like that most of the time.

We then get a message saying " the truck is loaded, we'll be there in a couple of days!" A whole week earlier than we can move in. Absolutely not a care in the world to them. The trucks loaded, it's coming. Or they can dump it back in the warehouse and we can go to court to get it released.
So now it's coming a week early. Getting put into someone's garage. No set up, no unpacking no bed assembly and no reduced price. Also either cash or postal check (same as cash) or they won't unload. Now I have to pay somebody else to load it and move it and unload it.

Any conversation with them turns into a circle jerk. Dave can make up lies faster than anybody I've dealt with. Before the conversation is over, he contradicts his original lies with new ones. Almost comical. He claims to have a recording of all phone calls and has clear evidence that we requested the wrong date. But he can't let you hear it for any one of several ridiculous reasons.

Worst decision ever, choosing Progressive Relocation. Run, don;t walk, to somebody, anybody else.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $5400

Official company response

This is not the whole truth the fact is you indicated you were ready for delivery immediately and we confirmed our arrival time with you and then the day before arrival; you stated you could no longer accept delivery and wanted to take advantage of our free storage promotion however as we clearly stated at pick up unless you request storage on the day of pick up we are not able to provide free storage after the items are picked up and put into transit. We are sorry for any inconvenience but that is why good communication from BOTH sides is necessary for a move to be successful.

Long-distance move from Clermont, FL to Utica, NY

Did not show up at all.

Don't even consider using! They were all talk, but on the scheduled day, never showed up. Promised they would be there next day but again, never showed up. I left a message for Chris and sent an email and no response. They are scammers, liers and incompetent. My 85 year old mother went through horrible stress because of them, and had to leave her home, leaving her things there, because she and my brother had plane tickets to fly up north where she was moving. She is sick and unable to live in her own anymore. She did not need the stress that this caused her.

This is Simply not true. We attempted to contact you on the pick up day by phone, text and email and you never responded until two days later stating you canceled your move. You also stated that you thought we were another mover calling on move day and that is why you did not answer. We are sorry you had this issue however we did attempt to provide you the service as contracted.

Long-distance move from Clermont, FL to Utica, NY

Worst company ever.

I have nothing but NEGATIVE TERRIBLE comments for this company. DO NOT THINK ABOUT USING THEM. If I did not live in NY, I would sue them. They provided numerous assurances that they would be at my mom's home on a date and time certain, after I explained that I was flying into town to help my 86 yr old ill mom move. They never showed. When I called and spoke to a rep, he assured me they would appear that next morning between 7am-9am (I HAVE THE CONFIRMING TEXT!), and they finally called at 11;15am and the driver said they could be there in half hour to 45 mins. I had already explained mutiple times that I was taking my sick mom on a flight that day, and they were too late.

They consistently put me on hold forever, and always shuffled me around from "customer care" to a Service Rep, to a different location, etc.. what a nightmare..

As I said, I have the confirming text from the rep who assured me that the company would appear, and be timely, on the move date, AFTER they screwed up and failed to appear on the agreed upon, contracted date. This was all arranged in advance because of my mom's illness, and the fact that I had to fly in from out of state to handle it.. they screwed us.

BTW, they still have $400 of our money.

Stay Away!!

Military Families Beware.

I am a marine and hope to save other military families from trouble. To all my military families spread the word about this company. Want proof I’m not a competitor call me 208.755.7596. My lawyer has been contacted as has the NCCDB/FLCSA

Never Again
I will never use this company again. Not only did I spend the time to itemize everything so that my quote would be as close to accurate as possible which meant I was on the phone for almost 2 hours. I also went over the list again however after they came and picked up our belongings not only did I know we wouldn’t have enough room which I mentioned from the start. The movers said oh there’s room don’t worry, but once loaded and by the time done it was 10pm, they let me know it was going to be double my quote. Now earlier they said as the space fills and we pass my spot my price would go up so I also left most of the bigger furniture in hopes my cost wouldn’t be so high which it ended up doubled and that was with leaving all the items I had listed from day one. After trying to get ahold of my contact who said I could reach even on the weekends with the number that same night they loaded due to the cost going up so much but with no luck, when I finally do get someone it was a couple weeks later and now they said I never gave a list and gave them cubic feet instead ?? Which is completely false considering the movers were naming off the furniture before they started, what the heck and then all the emails I’d saved I could no longer open to prove it. I spoke to their general manager and explained the situation, he said basically it’s my word against his so oh well.
Now we were supposed to get our belongings on April 15th or if delays a day or so later to which I have the emails where I told the driver when he asked what date I needed them to be there. We have been renting up until that time which means we now are going to be in a empty house without our belongings because we are now being told they don’t know when they will arrive or can deliver but they would give me 24 hr notice. Seriously this was scheduled a month ago and I’ve been emailing constantly about the delivery to make sure all good and they wait until the day before to say not sure when we will be there ??. I’ve called their office all day and left messages with no response as well as emailing the office. Never again and if you are looking go somewhere else. DO NOT USE THEM!!

Long-distance move from Spruce Pine, NC to Parker, CO

Worst mover ever 0 rating

I don’t even no where to start on what a bad experience we had with this mover. First of all they showed up 3 hours late.

Our move was in Oct. of 2019 from N.C. to Denver area. At the end of Dec. we set the date for delivery. The driver and one other guy showed up and later on on a guy who had seen an ad on Craigslist. It seems that’s where they get there “professional” help. When I started opening the boxes things were just thrown in - 3 broken lamps, the contents of my desk just dumped in a box, sewing machine broken, jewelry I had left in my dresser with some clothes stolen that I had told the packer to not touch, lawn mower missing, pottery items broken and missing, China platter broken, cut glass bowl broken in a hundred pieces, card table missing, deep scratches in my oak dining table, probably more I can’t think of right now. Vacuum cleaner broken.

They received my claim on 2/24 - my calls said nobody was doing claims due to COVID. Now they say the company has been bought out and they can’t find my claim. Originally they did find it but said the girl working it had quit. So basically I’ve been told I’ll get nothing.

My advice don’t deal with this company or possibly any other from Florida

Long-distance move from Oklahoma to Texas

Don't let the good reviews here fool you!

Our experience with Progressive Relocation began simple and innocent enough. I came to this website, looking for a highly regarded moving company, and I chose these guys. When I called in they were eager to help me get an estimate down. My representative, named Jason, who was in charge of my move tried to take me through every step of the inventory list as well as tally up how many boxes and what kinds of furniture we had. I did all of this over the phone; this should be the first red flag to anyone who uses a moving company. If you do not by any means know how much space you will be needing to move, FIND OUT. Right down to each cubic foot. You will save so much money doing your own measurements or having your moving company send someone out to you to quantify your items! That was my first mistake; estimating the estimate is just a set up for failure and losing money. My rep. also tried to sweeten the deal with me when they called and I hadn't chosen them as my movers. They threw in some free packaging for a set of glass side tables I had and, since it was really my only fragile piece of furniture actually worth something, I was appreciative of it. They treat you well, when it comes to getting in the deal. So once I signed the binding contract and gave the required down payment for our move (our estimate was totaled to $2178), quite assured and trusting of my representative in giving me a good deal, it was harder than anything else to get a hold of him again. No email correspondence beyond emailing me the estimate paperwork, calling customer service was a real pain because 9/10 your rep. is on another call and you leave a message..only to never be contacted. This happened multiple times with me. Nevertheless, I simply took it that our representative was just that busy! Isn't everyone? The one time I did manage to get a hold of my rep. was to update the inventory list of a series of storage containers I acquired from my parents to help me with the move, but that was all. No checking in, no further assurances on their part. Everything started to go downhill when on Friday afternoon on the week before the move, I was notified that our move was pushed up a day! So instead of our agreed moving time on a Monday, they came Sunday. We could not finish all our packing in time; it's amazing what an extra day can do for accomplishing a move! When the movers came on that Sunday they were not only late and out of the timeframe that was assured, their head honcho mover (name: Alon Levi) immediately wrangled me into the paperwork. In between filling out paperwork and a contract I had not seen at all at that point I was told a number of very shocking and downright unfair realizations: 1.) My moving estimate was insufficinent. My rep. estimated that our total move would be 660 c.f.. Instead, after all our items had been skimmed by eye I was told that it would be 1000 c.f.! Therefore we had to pay the extra c.f. at their rate of $3.00/c.f. This escalated the cost of the move immensely. 2.) Everything had to be in a box. EVERYTHING. My rep. did not tell me this whatsoever. I was unprepared and quite upset at this because our moving time was cut short and we couldn't have boxed everything in time even if we had enough boxing material. 3.) Gas surcharge was through the roof after the new, on the spot new estimate Mr. Levi told me. The old surcharge was $198 by Jason's estimate; it went up to $300 due to the extra c.f. we had to have. I will say this though: Mr. Levi's team was quick. They knew how to take your stuff away and put it into the truck. They did that part of their job well. But Mr. Levi was not a very personalble person to work with: he spoke super fast, didn't leave a lot of room for questions or debate on the move itself, and he wrangled me into giving a gratuity. THIS IS NOT REQUIRED, nor does it say to do so in the contract. It was like the last nail in the coffin; not only did he tell us that we had way too much stuff for our estimate and upped our gas surcharge, he cornered me into giving a 10% gratuity to him. And with the cost of the move I didn't have nearly that much cash on me, so I had to give it in check! It doesn't stop there: that day, Mr. Levi told me that since I paid with check (and not money order or, god help me, CASH) our things would be hold until the money cleared. So no, we would not be getting our items that week of the move like we were told by Jason. Oh, and that free packaging of those fragile glass side tables? Not so free, after all..we had to pay for all the extra packaging and wardrobe boxes (6 in all, $20 bucks each!). It was one unpleasant surprise after another. Our move suddenly jumped in price from $2178 to over $3500 when all would be said and done. It took fifteen days to get our stuff from a move that was only 515 miles apart from origin to drop off. In the interim I had tried desperately to get a hold of Jason, no luck. Every time I called Progressive Relocation their customer service rep would "try to reach dispach" for an ETA, and never be able to reach them. They also won't give you any other way to contact them yourself. When I did call to give them a piece of my mind, about a week after our things had been taken and the checks had already cleared so they got our money, the customer service rep had the audacity to put me on hold! I wanted to say how poorly their estimates were, how they essentially ripped me off and didn't help me further during the moving process! They had my possessions and they wouldn't tell me when I'd receive them. Poor service! It gets better though (no not really, that was sarcasm there). Progressive Relocation must have contracted some local mover in Midland/Odessa because the man who came with the delivery truck was not directly employed by them. The remaining cost of the move (~40%) was given to him and not Progressive..and his helpers were hired guys off of Craigslist. I found this out personally because of the men who was helping moving our items told me that's how he found it. I cannot make this up!  After all is said and done though? Only one item got broken and that was one of the glass side table legs; it was snapped after being taped together with its twin in a very stupid way. We got lucky in that department I suppose. Everything is accounted for, thankfully. I can't recommend these guys at all. When it comes to moving please do these following things: -DO it yourself! Spare yourself the grief and lost money hiring a moving company to do it for you. Just get a U-haul, transport your car(s) (like we did) and hire a couple guys to do some heavy lifting if you need to. -If you HAVE to get a company, make sure they send someone out to you to measure your items for a better quote. This will safe you some money and certainly a lot of time.  -BOX EVERYTHING. The last thing you want to do is waste money on moving guys adding extra packing crap besides tape and labor to your moving cost.  -Avoid using checks. They may do to you what they did to me and "hold my things" at least as long as when the money clears from your account. Just use money orders or, if you want to risk holding a lot of it, cash. -For the love of everything, ARGUE your quote. They'll try to make as much of a buck out of you as possible. Do not sign anything until all your items are accounted for when its delivered! Check all items for damage! Get extra movers insurance as a just in case (not this company's..it's pitiful). This entire experience has made me never want to move again, and certainly not with Progressive Relocation!

Long-distance move from Colorado to Florida

Thanks Guys for the Good job!

So I finally got a job offer after looking fortwpo years but the trick was getting to the location with the budget I had. I was moving from Denver to South Florida so drivig a ruck with the dogs and family that far was out the question. So afterspeaking to may movers I choose Progressive because I felt comfortable with Paul the rep and he answered all my questions and concerns well. Move day came and the crew was on time and on point. Being an ex Vet I can appreciate good teamwork and they way they wrapped alll my furniture up and loaded so easily they made a huge move look like a breeze. Delivery was seamless as well and the price was fair as well with no hidden charges.

Long-distance move from Ohio to California

They are BROKERS! Do not use for long distance moves!

Although my complaint list is long, I will try to keep it as short as possible. Obviously I am not satisfied with my recent state to state move with them, and here are the reasons why:

1. They claim they are not brokers, yet both the drivers who picked up my things, which were both from different companies, called them brokers. When I asked them about this they told me the drivers were wrong, that they are NOT brokers, that the companies are "sister companies." I know at least two different companies handled my things, if not more. I was originally told it was one company (Progressive Relocation) who handled everything. If I would have known that this wasn't the case I 100% would not have booked them. 2. Because they "are not brokers" they would not price match any company I had a lower quote from, even though they originally stated they do price match. My move was given to me as a "binding contract" at 2186 but I ended up paying much more out of pocket. 3. I was originally told my things would arrive on the 25th of June. They ended up arriving on the 9th of July. When I tried to get in contact with Progressive Movers, their only excuse was that it was in storage in Chicago, which again I was told that it would be a straight trip without storage, and they had to wait to a full truck. I was never told this ahead of time. I had planned for my things to get here in one week and instead they came three weeks later. They took no responsibility for my things being late. They were also one day late in picking my things up, which was more of a hassle for my father who was meeting them at the storage. 4. They told me they would contact me 2-3 days before my things arrived in California. They didn't contact me until 3 HOURS before they arrived. 5. The company did not estimate anything right. When the movers arrived at the pickup place, they told me (over the phone) that it would be an additional 700 dollars to pack "all the extra things" even though they were things I had originally listed. They also wanted to charge for packing things, taping things, which I were told were part of the estimate. I was able to talk them down to 250 dollars extra but I am still not pleased that I had to pay that extra. Then, when my things arrived here, I was told it was going to be an additional 450 dollars to deliver the items from 75 ft of the truck and up a flight of stairs, although I told the company that I was moving to a second story. I didn't have that extra money, as again, I had just moved across the country. Fortunately they were able to take down the price and my fiance was able to get some money out of savings to help. 6. The company originally told me to pay both payments in cashier's check, so before I left Ohio I got two cashier's checks. I found out the morning of my things arriving that it had to be cash or postal order, so in order to cash my own cashier's check I lost 50 dollars. When I called the company and complained they said it was my fault because its on the contract- not their contract of course, but the movers which my dad signed for me back in Ohio since I was here already. 7. Their customer service is awful. When I first called, all the sales people and managers were pushy and stepped around my questions, yet I decided to go with them based on their reviews on mymovingreviews and BBB standings. They were also hard to understand sometimes, as if they were calling from a loud warehouse. My 'salesperson' has dropped off the face of the earth since I had my down-payment, and will not answer emails or every time I call to specifically talk to him he is 'on the other line' or 'out of the office.' Their management and customer service people have for the most part been pushy, rude, and inconsiderate. They are not taking any kind of responsibility for how awful this move has been, and instead say it is my fault. Again, if I would have known how awful this company would have been to deal with I never would have booked them. 8. I have been trying to get ahold of them about missing and damaged items. They have not been able to help thus far. They blamed the missing heriloom on it "not being tagged" which was the original mover's issue. It has been several months and it is still missing and I have yet to hear back from them even after mailing the claims form. I also had a few crushed/broken items but nothing of much value since I personally packed everything. 9. Whoever packed the truck that dropped off my things did not pack it well- the movers had to take many things out just to get to my things. The whole process took about 5 hours for about 100 boxes of things. They also asked my fiance to help the whole time (do keep in mind, this is in 90 plus degree weather and my fiance does not do manaul labor for a living) because I wasn't able to pay the full amount for them "taking it up the stairs." While I am glad he helped out, I had specifically paid the movers to move the things so we wouldn't have to. He was not compensated for helping them, they just guilted him into it.

Long-distance move from Oklahoma to Florida

Perfect move.

I recently had to moved due to a job transfer. I have never had to move long distance in my life and had no idea how to go about it. In conversation I was informed a use a moving company would be the best way to go. Since I am no longer a college student and don't have the privilege traveling lightly with only the cloths on back I was recommended from my uncle to use Progressive Relocation. He told me that his move to florida was very efficient. They responded to his email in a timely manner. The girl Ashley was amazing! She was very knowledgeable and kind. I felt comfortable with my decision in using their moving company. Everything made it there in one piece the same way as it left. They even stored my belongings for me for two weeks until I was able to find a place to live for no extra fee. If I ever have to move again I would defiantly use Progressive Relocation.

Long-distance move from Texas to Florida

Progressive Relocation Rocks!

I had made the mistake of entering my information online to receive a moving bid. I was unaware of how many companies would call me! There was a mix of brokers and movers, the more I heard, and the more scared I got and was really fed up from this whole process. Then when I was  ready to give up, to just do the move myself, I received another call from an agent with a company called Progressive Relocation who had also got my information.  I figured why not hear one more company’s speech.. SO I gave her a shot to explain to me who they were, along with the services they offered.  She covered every detail of what would be involed with a move in genreal, and what to expect if I chose Progressive as my movers. I couldn’t be happier with my decision. I almost didn’t answer her call that day. I did not want to move my families household myself, that’s just so much hard work and most of everyone else I spoke with was just trying to sale me a service that made me uncomfortable.  I feel as if I didn’t just pay for a service with Progressive Relocation. The people that work there genuienly cared about helping me. It was a pleasant experience from start to finish; just as the moving service was described, it was preformed. The moving crew was an excellent group, and really did a great job for my families move.  For anyone who is considering using a mover, I highly recommend Progressive Relocation.  Thank you all so much!!   I had made the mistake of entering my information online to recive a moving bid. Long-distance move from Florida to California

**warning**.

Please avoid this moving company.
They run the perfect scam.
All positive reviews online for Progressive Relocation are fake.
The only real reviews will be the ones warning others to avoid them.
The truth is that they will pick up your furniture. They will store it for you if you need and they will deliver it to you just like a normal moving company, but with a twist.. I moved from Florida to California on April 8 2013. I was quoted over the phone by Jason for 440cu.ft but on the day of the move it was doubled to 880cu.ft. I ended up paying double the original price for a total of $3400 for the move and $1540 for 4 months of storage. I requests deliver Sept. 23 and recieved delivery 27 days later on Oct. 19. Upon delivery I was overcharged $484 due to a clerical error involving a mishandled storage payment. I had to pay the extra amount to recieve my delivery for a grand total of $5,423 for a one bedroom apt. The storage cost $352 a month and went up to $484 in September. I disputed the extra $484 charge over the phone with Ms. Ciara D. Who told me that I would not get my money back because Progressive paid the delivery driver the extra balance as a tip. She said they gave him the $484 dollars as a tip and then fired him. She never apologized to me and claimed that they were victims because the delivery driver stole that money from them, so they fired him. What's really great about that story is that he worked for Summit Van Lines not Progressive, because Progressive hires other companies to do the moving. Additionally I have to file a claim with them for damaged furniture. A leg broke off of my coffee table in the move and the box spring for the mattress is torn along the edges.
Moving can be extremely stressful but when you cannot trust the moving company it becomes a complete nightmare.

Long-distance move from Florida to Indiana

Fast and reliable.

I contacted Progressive Relocation when I found out I needed to move from Florida to Indiana.

I have a couple of friends and even a relative whom have all used them. I took there recommendations into consideration when ultimately deciding between Progessive relocation and another company that I won't mention the name of.

Overall Progressive really conducted themselves as professionals over the phone which in my opinion is s reflection of their work ethic.

When moving day arrived, they showed up about ten minutes early and we walked through the house and discussed how it would be completed. The guys managed to load every thing in a timely manner.

Upon delivery of my stuff in Indiana everything was accounted for and was in the same condition as it was in Flordia. They really helped get everything where I wanted it, along with assembling some furniture.

Long-distance move from Maryland to North Carolina

Great job!

These guys were great with moving my things from Michigan to North Carolina. The price was affordable and I would definetely use them again. I had problems and the booking and paying process was easy. These guys are awesome and efficient. They got the job done with no problems. There was no hassle with getting things done and I didn't experience any damage to my property which was awesome. They made sure to wrap my things and keep them from getting damaged in the rain. The job was completed for the right price and I'm glad I chose them.

Long-distance move from Florida to Louisiana

The move was complete success!

First, I would like to point out that the move was different in 3 ways: Time, Price, and Professionalism. The move was quick, clean, and respectful. The movers were people who obviously have experience in this business and were very careful with my Items. I appreciate how quickly they were able to move my things with such precision. Second is the price. The low base price of $2,000 was just perfect for me. $2,000 for what I was moving was very reasonable and was good to my budget. Other companies were charging me too much. Last but not least was professionalism. The staff was extremely nice and outgoing, always with smiles on their faces, providing a happy, exciting, and positive environment. I would definitely recommend this company to anybody wanting to move their things for a low price, quick move, and nice environment.

Long-distance move from Georgia to Washington DC

Move to Washington DC.

I should say I had no issues with Progressive Relocation.
These people impressed us by their excellent services.
I personally was really exhausted with this search of moving companies to be able complete our huge move and I could say these guys gave us a good help.! Georgia to DC is a considerably big trip and Progressive Relocation made it happen and pretty well.

They wrapped our stuff in three layers (so, spared no packaging material) including our sofas and all the stuff. They are careful with flooring and took a very good care of stuff.
For me the most important was that were no any delays. That I appreciate the most. Referring to the prices they're really good, even better than other companies offer.

Long-distance move from Michigan to North Carolina

Professional Service, a BIG thumps up from me.

I was recently moving from Michigan back to North Carolina after my assignment was over with. I did not feel like going through all the trouble of having to do everything by myself once again. I reached out to Progressive Relocation and after seeing how professional they are I was sold immediately. They showed up on time, conducted themselves properly, nothing was lost or damaged and they even managed to stay within the quoted price. Thanks again.
